Contrary to the claims of the Book of
Mormon mammoths, mastodons, and horses had disappeared from the
American continents 10,000 years ago. It wasn't until at least 1,000 years
after the time period of the Book of Mormon that some of those
animals were introduced onto the continent. Ancient artwork reveals the
kinds of animals present in the New World.
